About
Hi, I'm vanessa.
Helping busy Christians slow down, notice God's presence, and grow in faith through simple, intentional practices.
My story
How I got here.
For years, I desired a life with more peace, more margin, and a deeper awareness of God's presence.
Like so many people, my days were filled with responsibilities, deadlines, and the constant movement of everyday life.
Over time, God met me in quiet mornings, walks outside, journaling, gentle movement, Scripture, and prayer. These simple practices helped me slow down, notice His presence, and experience the gift of rest in a new way.
That experience changed me, and it's the heart behind everything I create today.
How I serve
How I help today.
Today I help busy Christians embrace a slower, more intentional rhythm through Christian meditation, gentle movement, contemplative writing, prayer journaling, retreats, and thoughtful resources.
Whether you're listening to a guided meditation, opening your journal, joining a retreat, or reading The Unhurried Letter, my hope is always the same: that you'll discover rest isn't something you earn. It's an invitation from God.
My background
Where this comes from.
Before starting this ministry, I spent years studying biology and working in clinical research and forensic science. That experience gave me a deep appreciation for how God designed our minds and bodies, and it still shapes how I teach today. While my work is rooted first in Scripture, I also enjoy helping people understand how practices like slowing down, breathing deeply, and creating margin support the way God created us to live.

I believe in one God, eternally Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who has spoken His Word and still speaks. Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, died for our sins and rose again, so that we may have everlasting life. The Holy Spirit indwells, teaches, and steadies every believer. Scripture is true, trustworthy, and the root of every practice I teach. And rest is not something we earn. It is an invitation, freely given through Christ.
A few things I love
Outside of the work.
- Early mornings with coffee and Scripture
- Writing letters by hand
- Photographing ordinary beauty
- Restorative yoga
- Walking local greenways and wooded trails
- Cozy bookstores
- Baking homemade treats
- Time with my husband, Justin, and my daughters, Bryce and Sloane
