As we're in the midst of the 2016 Olympics taking place in Rio, I saw it fit to pull from the current event for this week's #JustBecauseItsTuesday post.
Choosing the specific direction, however, was much more difficult than I had originally anticipated. I didn't know whether to talk about all of the amazing people of color taking over, such as the Simones (Simone Biles who is dominating in gymnastics or Simone Manuel who took gold in swimming). Or maybe I should talking about Michael Phelps where I was super inspired by a picture where he was in lead and his opponent was too busy focusing on him to keep up. Or possibly Usain Bolt who exudes confidence at a entire different level as he's pretty much the fastest runner in the world.
As I sat down to write this post I instead hopped on Facebook and saw a clip Great Britain runner Mo Farah fall during the 10,000m race and recovered to win gold!
To me the message in this was to keep going and never give up, and someone somewhere needs to hear that message today.
I don't know where you are in your life. Whether you're working towards something at full speed, focused on the finish line, and then there's an obstacle that comes out of no where. You trip. You fall.
As you hit the ground, your heart drops as you think this might have ruined your chances.
But I encourage you to not pause. Don't even think about quitting. Get up and keep going at full speed to finish strong. The energy you would use on dwelling in your fall you can use to fuel your fire to meet whatever goal you're trying to make.
Who knows, you just might win gold ;) #JustBecauseItsTuesday
Be awesomely amazing
