"And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom." - Anais Nin

One week ago I packed up my 2 bedroom townhouse and moved to an apartment in the DMV! If you would've asked me 3 months ago where would I be living in October I would have said "umm here [Greenville, NC] of course" without hesitation.

Being that I had only just moved there from Durham in February of this year I did not expect a change so soon.

But life happens and when God says go, you go.

Ironically I was offered a position in Maryland back in Dec/Jan but turned it down due to a few personal reasons. So here I am not even a year later and I'm making this life shift to Northern Virginia. [Not too far from where I would've been]

I believe God has a way of redirecting our paths. Maybe I was meant to be here? Maybe I was supposed to move here in January instead of small college town Greenville? At any rate, I'm here now.

I can't lie, during the weeks coming up to my move I was a bit nervous. I would be moving where I don't know anyone and that thought alone was scary. Especially because I am close with my family and I'm a very much introverted individual and know that I have to actually get out to meet people when I'd rather be in my own space.

So last month I spent my time traveling to visit friends and family and soak up as much time as I could with them all.

Before I knew it, Saturday came and I have to say there wasn't a single ounce of anxiety in my body! I guess it was God's way of telling me that I'll be okay. Although it was stressful but what move isn't?!

Here I am one week later and I'm settling in quite fine! I love my apartment and the area I'm in. I love the city feel and the fact that I'm so close to DC. I love that in a sense I'm starting over. I think they call it a fresh slate, right?

My whole life is ahead of me and I have so many ideas and things I want to accomplish. I'm continuing to learn more about myself each day while ensuring that I keep God first in everything that I do.

So hello NOVA! I'm Vanessa and I can't wait to see where this takes me! :)

Here are just a few clips I compiled of my moving journey.

I want to give a special thanks to my family who helped me during this process!

Apartment tour coming soon! ;)

I will post a moving tips blog in a few days as this is my 4th move since 2012! haha

If any of my followers are in the Woodbridge area I'd love to connect! Send me an email.
