3 Strand Twist Out | Natural Hair
So I'm still in the midst of staying away from the scissors and experimenting with styles! This week I tried the 3 strand twist out method for the first time. While I feel like I could have had better definition and less frizz with a different styler there's always joy in learning!
Before we get into the video here are the products mentioned and used to achieve this style. Photos are direct links.
Who knew Head & Shoulders made products for textured hair?! As someone who has always struggled with that occasional dry itchy scalp I leaped when I got this product. It smells great and leaves my hair and scalp feeling amazing without the stripping resulted from most of their products. I definitely am glad to have thrown this into my wash day.
This product is supposed to give you 24HR frizz control. I have high porosity fine hair which results in a lot of frizz. Especially when I'm trying to fluff and make my hair more voluminous. I've tried this product a couple of times and not sure how I feel about it. I wouldn't say it tames my frizzies completely (not sure if I actually believed that it could..). Although I haven't had the control I desired from this product I will continue to use it in conjunction with other products and see if it changes my mind.
Any one dealing with an itchy scalp? This stuff is ahmayzing. You can instantly feeling the cool, tingly sensation from the peppermint oil for instant relief. I used it after washing and felt the tingling throughout my styling process. Did you know that peppermint oil is also good for hair growth? The did a study on it. I do scalp massages weekly to get the blood flowing which also helps promote hair growth! Operation healthy hair journey! Loved this product!
I've had this product for a few months and have used it on multiple occasions. It's great for a two-n-one product! I typically use it on my twist outs if I'm in a rush to just throw some in and go. You have to be careful about not adding to much because it can give your hair a dull appearance and feel sticky to the touch the next day eek!
What I can say is that for this particular style I wish I would have used the Creme of Natural Pudding perfection and a gel (my styler staples at the moment). I believe I would have gotten more definition.
This is my absolutely favorite oil for taking down any style. Because it is important to have your fingers lubricated so you do mess up the fall of the curls or coils, you want to have a good oil. Argan oil works wonders for my hair and adds the shine I need to complete the style. I definitely recommend this product in particular.
So here's the tutorial! Don't forget to subscribe to my channel to never miss a video:) [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZRIR2hwdzw] Although the style did not completely come out how I expected it to it was fun trying something new and I rocked it boldly!
