Consistency.

Each year I choose a word. A mantra. Something I'd like the year to encompass.

2016's word was "Fulfilled". I desired fulfillment in all areas of my life [see Joshua 21:45 NIV] Though it wasn't perfect, I definitely worked hard and saw somethings work out for my good! I laughed, I cried, I traveled, I grew in my career, and I survived my first year in the DMV.

Moving on to 2017, my word for this year is consistency. I want to see myself being consistent in all areas of my life in order to achieve all of my goals I have set forth for the year.

Let's be real. Everyone is always so motivated towards the beginning of the year. A fresh start, if you will. However, the one key to not losing that momentum is to remain consistent and that's just what I intend to do.

This year I want to be consistent with yoga. I recently looked back at a lot of old videos and noticed how things were so effortless back then. Ever since my injury [see post: Don't Drink and Yoga] I got a little scared and stopped working on certain poses. This year I want to overcome my fear and work on getting back to that point where I was splitting on trees (#splitontrees haha), balancing forearm stands, and easily touch my toes to my head.

I'd also like to work even harder and grow my brand to new levels. I want to focus more on yoga and wellness in particular. Don't worry the inspirational post will definitely still be there, but the natural hair and beauty will be less of a focus and solely on YouTube.

In addition, after gaining much inspiration after reading Shonda Rhimes' Year of Yes at the start of last year, I also am taking on new challenges. Each month I want to do at least one thing that scares me. Something out of my comfort zone or that gives me a bit of fear. I think back to that time I went skydiving and I want to chase after that excitement again. We'll call it the Year of NESS and I'm excited to share what I accomplish each month.

I'm still dancing it out, standing in the sun and being my own person:)

Another challenge I'm participating in is the #100happydays or 100 days of happiness challenge. It's essentially finding something that makes me happy each day for 100 consecutive days and sharing it with the world. Remember Chasing HappyNESS? Well she's still going :)

So here's to being consistent. Here's to a new year. Here's to 2017. #JustBecauseItsTuesday

What's your word for 2017? I'd love to hear.

Be awesomely amazing,
