A weird habit I have doing is reading more than one book at a time. I typically will do a fiction and a non-fiction at the same time just to mix it up a bit. Last month I didn't finish my informational read so you won't hear about that until November but I did read two amazing books I have to share. Note: Photos are direct links
So the bulk of September was filled with travel and vacations so I made sure I grabbed two easy reads for the road.
The first I read was One Plus One by Jojo Moyes
"There's no room in my life for the whole one plus one thing"
After reading Me Before You and deeming it my favorite book EVER, I knew I had to pick up another one from Moyes. One Plus One was an absolutely adorable story of a mom who is trying to do right and get her daughter to the Math Olympiad. Unfortunately she endures a lot of adversity but then crosses paths with a man who is nothing like her who is dealing with his own unfortunate situation. The moment their lives are intertwined it changes them forever.
It was a cute story with a few twists in. I'll give it 4 bookmarks.
Sidetone: Did you hear that the sequel to Me Before You has been released:) It's called Me After You, fitting.
Next I read, The Girl On The Train.
"I'm not the only one who looks now. I don't suppose I ever was. I suppose that everyone does it - looks out at the houses they pass - only we all see them differently"
Whew this book was just...ahmayzing. I'm a sucker for a good thriller and if you can have me on the edge of my seat or sitting up in bed until 3am to finish the book then you got me! Although I did figure out the ending in my head before I was halfway through it was a really good book proving myself right ;)
Basically a story of a girl who travels back and forth on a commute via train to London and watches the people she has made up "stories" about. One day she sees something that pretty much gets her a little too involved. I can't say too much without giving it away but if you like suspenseful, mystery, thriller type books you'll love this one. I believe it would make an excellent movie! Definitely deserves 5 bookmarks.
